Stantec welcomes Alan Kerr as Transportation Planning Practice Leader for Australia and New Zealand. With extensive experience in transport planning, both domestically and abroad, Alan brings his passion for design, collaboration, and creative problem solving to the Wellington office.
‘We are incredibly excited to bring Alan on board,’ says Gavin O’Connor, Group Manager, Central Region, Transportation. ‘Alan is a talented consultant who has delivered a number of high-profile projects and his experience and reputation in the industry is second to none.’
Alan joins Stantec after working at Beca where he was Technical Director – Transportation. During his time there he delivered pedestrian modelling studies for the London and Rio Summer Olympics as well as the Sochi Winter Olympics. Previous to Beca, Alan was the Modelling and Standards Manager for Transport for London, where he led a team of six transport planners providing internal transport planning consulting and modelling services to the rest of the organisation.
Alan will capitalise on the momentum of Stantec New Zealand to realise the opportunity of being part of a global transport business. ‘A key reason I was attracted to Stantec was the opportunity to access and leverage their global network of experts and, in turn, share my experience with them,’ says Mr Kerr.
In his new role, Mr Kerr will lead major local projects in Wellington while also supporting our wider New Zealand and Australia businesses including an ongoing role in major infrastructure projects in Sydney.
