Subterranean Fauna

subterranean fauna mwhOur team consists of qualified biologists, ecologists and taxonomists (molecular and morphological) with a proven track record in stygofauna and troglofauna surveys. Services are provided at all levels of assessment, adhering to the relevant State and Federal Governments’ legislative and regulatory requirements.

Our services cover a broad spectrum to ensure projects successfully progress through the environmental approvals process, or to complete on-going compliance monitoring. We have substantial experience in the taxonomic identification of invertebrates (arachnids, crustaceans, insects and oligochaetes), with in-house access to high end microscopes and imaging software, and an extensive subterranean fauna database.

MWH also has strong associations with many leading specialists from local, interstate and international research institutions. With access to DNA facilities and an external network of specialist taxonomists, we can resolve even the most complex of cases.

We have substantial experience in environmental assessments and monitoring of subterranean fauna assemblages for the iron ore, specialty metal and alloys, precious metals and uranium industries, throughout the Goldfields, Pilbara, and Kimberley regions as well as the Carnarvon, south coast and arid interior (WA, SA and NT).
